A Word from the editor...

JessicaIt's easy to sell performance and comfort, and the case for “going green” is leveraging sales these days too. But now a health and wellness argument is also making head way. Associations and some provincial governments are slowly waking up to the idea that motorcycling is good for you and funding programs and research that will provide evidence to make getting fit your next successful sales angle.

Let's face it: motorcyclists are seldom consulted for expert advice on athleticism, unless they happen to ride to the gym or hockey practise. But the government of Nova Scotia just put $230,000 into ATV training and education for kids on the premise of both safe riding and health benefits associated with the sport. The COHV is conducting Canada's first study into the health benefits of trail riding and so far the results are positive. So although a young idea statistically speaking, it seems as though it won't be long before getting fit will be the next in a long list of good reasons to get riding. Read more about the COHV's study on page 13.

Speaking of compelling arguments, the remainder of the editorial space in this issue belongs to Mike Martin from Quantech Software, because he's got some excellent suggestions for boosting your bottom line and I figured you would be interested. Before handing over the reigns let me just say, thanks for reading Canadian Powersport Trade and as usual, your feedback is always welcome and appreciated.
